Casino Christian School

Casino Christian School is situated on 17 acres of beautiful semi-rural land. Our school is characterised by a commitment to student welfare through spiritual, emotional, physical and academic development. At the heart of our school is a commitment to teach Biblical/Christian values that are integrated into all of school life. We are a Presbyterian Church school that caters for all families (interdenominational) who desire a Christian education for their children.

Christian Schooling

Casino Christian SchoolingWhy Christian Schooling?

(a) There are some parents who view Christian Schools as nothing more than a glorified Sunday School.  This could not be further from the truth.  Casino Christian School leaves the Christian education primarily to the parents and the church.  However, the school does seek to be a consistent role model to its pupils and to show the love of God in every area of life. All our staff are committed Christians actively involved in their local churches. What a great privilege to have our children taught by people who are constantly pointing them to Jesus! The School is a registered School with the NSW Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards and is expected to meet all of their criteria.  Our goal is to excel and surpass the BOSTES criteria for schools.

(b) Some parents may see Christian Schooling as an expensive exercise without any real difference from the Government Schools.  Admittedly, there are many very caring teachers in other systems whose desire is to pay particular attention to individuals, but Christian school teachers see their task as a calling rather than simply a job.  The dedication and commitment of the teachers makes a great deal of difference to the success of a school.

(c) Whilst as a Christian School we seek to maintain high academic standards, it is not our sole or perhaps even the most important goal. We must ask what God requires of us and that is to faithfully use the gifts and abilities He has given us (Matthew 25:14-30). This will mean that students and teachers will work to the best of their ability in all areas. It will mean that we never accept mediocre effort from a student. It will also mean that we seek to impart wisdom, wisdom that is godly and enables good life choices. Godly wisdom is “pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” (James 3:17)

Any school worth sending our children to will impart more than just knowledge, but will seek to impart wisdom that is worth living by.

Creative Arts

Casino Christian School offers a Creative Arts program in the areas of Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Drama. These Creative Arts are taught as compulsory subjects from Kindergarten to Year 6. In Year 7 and 8 Music and Visual Arts continue to be compulsory. Drama, along with Music and Visual Arts, is offered as an elective subject from Year 9 onwards. Senior students are also able to study Music as a HSC subject.

The school has well equipped Art and Music Rooms. We also have a Multi-Purpose Centre with a large stage that enables Music and Drama performances, and with the size to hold Dance classes and school socials.

The various opportunities in Creative Arts help students gain confidence as well as developing social and cognitive skills they wouldn’t necessarily gain in other subjects.
