Senior School (11 – 12)

Casino Christian School began Senior School in 2014. This is in keeping with the desires of the school community for a Christian Education from K to 12 for their children.

Year 11 and 12 are important and exciting years of schooling, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, interests and attitudes to enable them to successfully take hold of future employment and academic pursuits. The school maintains a culture of positive academic work habits and personal guidance during this formative time.

CCS teaches the HSC by combining traditional and compressed course delivery. This enables students to spread their HSC commitments over two years rather than the usual one year. In Year 11 students are able to complete two HSC subjects with the courses being offered in a concentrated fashion. This has the benefits of ensuring Year 11 is an academically rigorous year and reduces some of the pressure of the HSC. Maths and English are taught in the traditional two-year format.

External options of study at Distance Education and TAFE complete the range of subjects available to students.

With this model students are able to focus on their learning, strengthen weakness and consolidate strengths.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

It is recognised that our students are living in a digital age. Students need to be able and confident users of technology.

Study at a HSC level requires research to further develop a student’s breadth and depth of understanding in any topic. Computers allow a student to access current research and thinking during any of their subjects.

Senior Students at CCS are encouraged to bring their own device and are given access to the school network in order to further facilitate their learning.

We have decided on subject choices of which quite a good range of the usual subjects will be on on offer, mainly because of the way the school proposes to compress most subjects into one year of study (apart from English and Maths), for full details see the Senior School Booklet. This will enable students to spread their HSC commitments over two years rather than the usual one year. External options of study at Distance Education and TAFE will add to the range of subjects.

Our teachers are well qualified and experienced to be able to teach the senior subjects. Extra staff have been called to the school to add to the strength of the school.
